Czech Village Revitalization
The Lightline Loop
The Lightline Loop is creating a new heart for Czech Village—bringing together a reimagined Roundhouse, festival space, pedestrian connections, public art, green space and more. Designed as a year-round destination for gatherings, events and everyday exploration, the project will honor the neighborhood’s history while helping Czech Village stay connected, welcoming and vibrant for generations to come.
The surrounding LightLine Loop will also include a festival street, pedestrian promenade, gateway signage, trail connections, public art, green space, a new connection along 18th Avenue SW and a parking lot with more than 100 spaces. Together, these improvements will make it easier to walk, explore, celebrate and spend time throughout the neighborhood.
Construction is nearing completion, with the new Roundhouse and surrounding improvements expected to open in fall 2026. Once finished, the LightLine Loop will give Czech Village a new place to gather, welcome visitors and create memories for generations to come.
The LightLine Loop is transforming part of Czech Village and New Bohemia into a more connected, walkable destination for community events, recreation and everyday gathering. Shaped by the 2019 Czech Village/NewBo Action Plan and extensive public input, the project is designed to honor the area’s cultural heritage while creating new opportunities for visitors, residents and local businesses.
At the heart of the project is a new Roundhouse inspired by the beloved community landmark lost after the Flood of 2008. The year-round facility will provide flexible space for private rentals, public programs, educational opportunities, community partnerships and other events that bring people together.
