The Royal Court is made up of local youth, ages 6 to 16, who are passionate about learning, sharing, and preserving Czech traditions. Crowned each year during Houby Days, these young ambassadors proudly represent generations of culture by participating in parades, festivals, and Czech events throughout Cedar Rapids and other Czech communities. With roots dating back to the 1980s, the Royal Court continues to grow and thrive, giving kids the opportunity to connect through programs like Czech School, Sokol, and Svetlušky while building lifelong pride in their heritage. Come cheer them on, hear their stories, and see how the next generation is keeping Czech traditions alive—your support helps ensure these customs are passed down for years to come. Miss Czech Slovak Iowa is an ambassador program that represents Iowa. This is from the ages of 16-26.
